Mirrorbound privacy policy

On this page

This privacy policy explains what happens to information when you play Mirrorbound (“the game”) on Android. The game is made by Nobility Games, an independent developer based in Egypt.

In short

  • You don’t need an account. The game doesn’t ask for your name, email address or contacts.
  • Game progress and settings are stored locally by the game. We don’t run a cloud-save service.
  • The game shows full-screen ads through Google AdMob between some levels. Ad requests are non-personalized and use Google’s protections for children, but Google still processes some device information, such as your IP address, to deliver and measure them.
  • We don’t run our own servers, analytics or crash reporting for the game.
  • The game is meant for players aged 13 and over.

1Who we are

Nobility Games is an individual game developer based in Egypt. We’re responsible for the game and for this policy. You can reach us at support@nobility-games.com.

2Information stored on your device

The game stores some information locally on your device so it can work. The game doesn’t send any of it to us.

  • Game progress and settings, such as the levels you’ve completed and your sound, vibration and motion preferences.
  • Ad limit records. To keep ads infrequent, the game records which levels you’ve completed for the first time, how long you’ve played, and when ads were shown. These records stay on your device and are used only to limit ads.

Backups. We don’t operate a cloud-save service. Depending on your device settings, Android or your device manufacturer may back up app data, including this information, or transfer it when you set up a new device. Google or your device manufacturer handles those backups under their own terms, not us.

Deleting it. Clearing the game’s data (usually Settings › Apps › Mirrorbound › Storage › Clear data) or uninstalling the game deletes the copy on your device. To manage or delete backups, use your device’s backup settings or your backup service. We don’t keep a copy, so we can’t restore lost progress.

3Ads in the game (Google AdMob)

The game uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) to show full-screen (interstitial) ads. Ads appear only between levels, and the game strictly limits how often they’re shown. You can close an ad and carry on playing.

Non-personalized, with protections for children. The game requests non-personalized ads, tags its ad requests so that Google applies its protections for children, and allows only ads rated for general audiences. With these settings, Google turns off personalized ads and remarketing and doesn’t send requests to third-party ad vendors. Google can still use information from your device to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud and abuse.

When the game loads or shows an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect this information and send it to Google:

  • IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of your device.
  • Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID.
  • Ad interactions, such as app launches, taps and video views.
  • Diagnostic information, such as app launch time, hang rate and energy use.

Google uses this information to deliver and measure ads, for analytics, and to prevent fraud and abuse. It’s encrypted in transit.

We don’t receive this information in a form that identifies you. AdMob gives us only aggregated reports, such as how many ads were shown.

Google handles this information under its own policies:

4Your ad privacy choices

  • Consent. Before it requests ads, the game uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to check whether a consent choice is needed. Because the current version treats every player as under the age of consent, Google doesn’t ask for consent and applies the restrictions described in section 3 instead.
  • Privacy choices. If Google requires a privacy choice for your location, you can review or change it in the game under Settings › Privacy › Privacy choices. This option appears only when it’s needed. The game also links to this policy from the same Privacy section.
  • Advertising ID. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings › Privacy › Ads or Settings › Google › Ads).

5Permissions the game uses

  • Internet and network access, to load ads and check consent requirements. The game itself can be played offline.
  • Vibration, for haptic feedback. You can turn it off in the game’s settings.
  • Advertising ID, which can be used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK as described in section 3.

The game doesn’t ask for access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location.

6What the game doesn’t do

  • No accounts or sign-in, and no cloud-save service of our own.
  • No personalized ads or remarketing.
  • No in-app purchases, so we never handle payment information.
  • No analytics or crash reporting of our own. Unity Analytics and Unity’s cloud crash and performance reporting are turned off, and we don’t use Firebase, GameAnalytics or Crashlytics.
  • We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone except as described in this policy.

If a future version changes any of this, for example by adding personalized ads or in-app purchases, we’ll update this policy before that version is released.

7Children

The game is meant for players aged 13 and over, and it isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Even so, the game applies Google’s protections for children to every ad request, as described in section 3.

8When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include, such as your device model or a description of a problem. We use it only to reply to you and help with your request. We keep these emails only for as long as we need to handle your request, then delete them.

10Your rights

To request deletion of personal information you have sent to Nobility Games, email support@nobility-games.com with the subject “Mirrorbound — Data deletion request” and describe what you want deleted. We will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how it’s used, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority.

Because the game doesn’t send your game data to us, most requests are quickest to handle yourself:

  • To delete game data, clear the game’s data or uninstall it. This deletes the copy on your device. Device backups are managed in your device’s backup settings.
  • To control ad data, use the options in section 4, or contact Google through its privacy policy.

For anything else, email support@nobility-games.com. We’ll reply within 30 days.

11International transfers

Google may process ad-related information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Google applies its own safeguards to these transfers, as described in its privacy policy.

12Security

Information sent by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. We don’t keep game data on servers of our own. Support emails are kept in our email account, and we use them only to answer you. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect anything you send us.

13Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, such as collecting a new type of information, we’ll also mention it in the game’s release notes on Google Play.
